Kalinovik — Zelengora: On the Roof of Eastern Herzegovina and Its Green and Healthy Products
Kalinovik is a municipality in the southeastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, positioned at the crossroads of some of the country's most remarkable mountain terrain. Spanning across the mountain ranges of Treskavica, Visočica, Lelija, and Zelengora, with the upper stream of the Neretva River and the Zagorje plateau, the municipality is characterised by high mountainous terrain covering over 80 percent of its surface.
This extraordinary natural environment provides ideal conditions for traditional and sustainable agricultural production. The Green and Healthy BiH project has identified Kalinovik as one of its key Case Study Areas, supporting local agri-food producers who work in harmony with this pristine highland landscape to produce organic and traditional goods of the highest quality.
Local producers from the Kalinovik area will have the opportunity to present and sell their products at the Kalinovik House, one of the dedicated promotion and sales innovation hubs supported under the Green and Healthy BiH project. The hub serves as a direct connection between local producers, consumers, and broader markets, supporting rural livelihoods and the visibility of authentic Herzegovinian highland products.
